A vocal classical music program was organised at GNG College Yamuna Nagar on DT. 12 th Sept 2008. The vocal presentation was given by Ustaad Rahim Fahimuddin Khan Dagar ji who is an eminent Dhrupad vocalist. Dhrupad Gayaki is the major heritage of Indian Culture. Its primary purpose is 'Araadhna' and is spiritual in nature, seeking not only to entertain but to induce deep feeling of peace in the listners. Ustaadji left the audiences spel bound with his illustrious presentation.
The program started with lighting of Lamp and college shabad. Then Ustaadji presented Saraswati vandana followed by Raag TODI ".... mere to Allah man ko adhaar, ji sajo sansaar, kam krodh mad lobh ...." Then Dhamad describing the holi between Radha and Krishan ".... Tain sohi gavat sang hori main..... naye naye upjat svabhav.." The program ended with bhajan ".... jagat janani mata durge mata....johi mangat...so hi pavat...."
The event was memorable and was attended by house packed students, distinguished guests and college administration and faculty.
